 CNMP Component Number 3:

Site Management

Site Management:
Tillage, crop residue management, grazing management, and other conservation practices should be utilized to minimize movement to ground and surface water of soil, organic material, nutrients, and pathogens, from lands where manure and wastewater are applied. Forest riparian buffers, filter strips, field borders, contour buffer strips, and other conservation practices should be installed to intercept, store, and utilize nutrients or other pollutants that may migrate from the feedlot area or fields on which manure and wastewater are applied.

Separated biosolid and liquid portions will increase the manageability, but conservation practices should still be utilized in order to exceed the requirements and fully limit the contamination of ground and surface water.
