Subject: Letter of Recommendation

To Whom It May Concern:

Please accept this letter as an endorsement and letter of recommendation for the Deskins Sludge Dewatering System.  The City of McAllen has installed the Deskins dewatering systems at our North Wastewater Treatment Plant and has been working with it for well over two years.  What previously required two man days to clean out a sludge bed after the sludge had been dried, now requires less than 1 man hour to clean out the bed.  The Deskin System is not just a sludge flocculator and drainage panels, but also a sludge retrieval system.

When comparing the Deskin System to any other sludge dewatering system such as centrifuge, a belt process, for the same volume of sludge you will find no other system cheaper or simpler to operate and easy to implement.  The City of McAllen openly welcomes any visitors to view the Deskin System at the North Wastewater Treatment Plant and soon be operating Deskin System at our South Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Should anyone have any questions or comments regarding this subject feel free to contact me at (956) 972-7150.

Sincerely,

Wm. Bart Hines, P.E.

Mr. Dave Deskins

Dear Dave,

Enclosed is a copy of my logbook on the Deskins beds.  We’ve had your equipment since 12-30-96.  We pout and remove the sludge about every other day.  I mean all year round, even when we have snow or ice on the beds.  Water out of the sludge thaws the sand and we still get good drainage and sludge cracking.

Dave, I’ve had a lot of people stop by or call and I tell them all the same.  Deskins has really worked for us.  The city’s engineer spent over $200,000.00 for (2) vacuum drying beds and they never worked.  I spent less on your equipment and it’s let me keep up with my sludge production.

Glad to help.  Anyone can call me at (217) 932-2873.

RE: Enhanced Sludge Dewatering Process (Deskins Process)

 Dear Mr. Walker,

Please accept this letter in response for my comments regarding the Deskins RapidFloc Mixer and Sand-Cell installed at our Wastewater Treatment Plant.

I am very pleased to inform you of complete installation of 8,000 sq. feet of sand-cell to our conventional drying bed space, including an inline RapidFloc Mixer and polymer injection unit.  The installation was performed by Trophy Club employees in a very timely manner with a representative of Design Controls present.

Due to a faster sludge dewatering and a low solids percentage of our digested sludge, we are able to remove more sludge from our digesters with each pour.  Due to faster drying time and the ability to mechanically retrieve  our dried sludge, we have a much faster drying bed turnaround, this enables us to empty digester space and completely eliminate the tremendous cost of operating a blower unit needed in the past.

From an operator point of view, anyone ever having the privilege of manually cleaning conventional drying beds must respect the Enhanced Sludge Dewatering Process.  I cannot begin to explain the boost in employee morale.  From a Superintendent point of view, this allows more time to train employees in specialized areas of operation, and from a management point of view, this simply makes good sense by saving time and money.

We are very pleased with your product and would recommend it to any facility that may be using conventional drying beds at this time.  It has been a pleasure working with you.  I am looking forward to discussing future results.  Should you or any future client have any questions or concerns, please have them contact Mr. Bill Walker at 1-800-677-7126 then I will contact you.

Sincerely,

Robbie Daughtry
WWTP Superintendent
